Ye Rambling Boys Of Pleasure
english

Ye rambling boys of pleasure,
give ear onto these lines I write,
It is true that I am a rover,
and in rambling I take great delight.
I placed my heart on a handsome girl,
and oftentimes she did me slight,
But my mind was never easy,
only when my darling was in my sight.

Down in yon flow'ry garden
where me and my true love did meet,
I took her in my arms
and to her I gave kisses sweet.
She bid me to take love easy,
just as the leaves fall from yon tree.
But I being young and foolish,
with my true love could not agree.

I wish I was in Americay,
and my true love along with me.
Money to support us
and keep us in good company.
Liquor to be plenty,
a flowing bowl on every side,
But fortune ne'er could daunt me,
for I am young and the world is wide.
